What is the Term End Exam (TEE) of IGNOU?

The term-end exam is the final examination conducted by IGNOU for all its courses at the end of each semester. It is a comprehensive examination that tests the students’ knowledge of the entire syllabus of the course. The term-end exam is conducted twice a year, in June and December.

The term-end exam is mandatory for all IGNOU students, and you must have completed the required number of assignments and attended practical sessions (if applicable) to be eligible to appear for the term-end exam. The examination is conducted in various examination centres across the country, and the date sheet is usually released a few weeks before the exam.

The term-end exam comprises multiple-choice questions (MCQs), descriptive questions, and practical exams (if applicable). The duration of the exam depends on the course and the number of papers. The passing marks for the term-end exam are 40 out of 100, and you need to score a minimum of 50% marks in each paper to pass the exam.

It is important to prepare well for the term-end exam and revise the entire syllabus thoroughly before the exam. Scoring good marks in the term-end exam is crucial as it determines your final grade and academic performance in the course.
