Welcome to the Crash Course on Statistics in Psychology!
This course has been specifically designed for the students pursuing MA in Psychology (MAPC) programme from IGNOU.
This course will prepare you for your Term End Examination (TEE) of Statistics in Psychology (MPC-006).
Whether you’re new to statistics or looking to refresh your knowledge, this course will provide a comprehensive understanding of statistical concepts and their applications in psychology.
The course will focus on solving various numerical and theoretical concepts over two days.
You will be taught to solve various numerical questions based on statistical tests that are important from the exam point of view and generally asked in TEE.
Numerical based on the following statistical tests will be taught:
- t-test
- ANOVA
- Mann Whitney U test
- Pearson’s Correlation
- Spearman Correlation
- Chi Square
- Kendall’s Tau
- Kruskal Wallis
Additionally, we will explore the following important topics:
- Parametric & Non-Parametric Statistics
- Descriptive & Inferential Statistics
- Hypothesis & Hypothesis Testing
- Type I & Type II Errors
- Levels of Significance
- Correlation & Regression
- Normal Distribution
We will also provide valuable tips on “how to attempt and write questions in exams” to score good marks.

Day 2 – Sunday, 28 May 2023 (04:00 PM – 08:00 PM)
