IGNOU awards Gold Medals to the respective course toppers who fulfil all of the following criteria:
(1) The students should have completed the programme within the minimum duration.
(2) The student should have secured the highest aggregate marks in the programme.
(3) The student should not have repeated any course in the programme.
(4) The student should not have been booked under unfair means during the study.
(5) The student should have secured the first division in the programme.
(6) There should be a minimum of 10 qualified and eligible students in the programme.
(7) Any other terms and conditions the Committee prescribes from time to time.
